Golden Tiger Policies
Objectives of the Golden Tiger Shotokan Karate Dojo are:
- to develop an appreciation for karate as an art and a sport
- to improve physical condition, mental discipline and emotional calmness
- to develop a sense of responsibility for oneself and others
- to learn self-defense and personal safety
Annual Membership fees are utilized to purchase new equipment and to renovate the facilities. Your membership gives you access to the Golden Tiger classes.
Definition of Family Membership:
Family membership includes head of the household, and all claimed dependents in the household. Student’s ages 19 – 23 still residing with parents may be included.
- When you come into the Golden Tiger, you will be asked to present your membership card
- Memberships are not transferable from one individual to another
- Loaning out of cards may result in loss of membership privileges
- Replacement card fee: $5.00 per card

Monthly class fee allows a student to attend two or more classes per week (check with Golden Tiger Staff when signing up).

Class fees are based on a minimum number of participants. If a set minimum is not met for any given class, the class may be canceled and transfers or refunds are made available to those registered. Registrants are notified by phone of cancellations.
Wait lists will be called in order when openings/cancellations occur in programs.
Fees are non-refundable unless the Golden Tiger cancels a class. Individuals who withdraw from activity 24 hours prior to the first class will receive a full refund, minus a $10.00 handling fee. A 30 day written notice to the Golden Tiger staff is required to cancel or make changes to your membership.
Prospective members/students are welcome to drop in anytime.
First class is free.
Guest of members must be accompanied by the member.
All guests must be registered at the service desk.
Code of Conduct:
No participants shall, on the basis of race, sex, creed, national origin or disability, be denied equal access to programs, activities, services or benefits, or be limited in the exercise of any right, privilege, advantage or opportunity.
Participants are expected to exhibit appropriate behavior at all times.
A positive approach will be used. The Golden Tiger reserves the right to dismiss a participant. Each situation will be evaluated on its own merit.
Uniforms may be ordered through the head instructor. Uniform prices start at $30.00 for student gi's.
All prices are subject to change, please check with Golden Tiger staff when purchasing a uniform.
The Golden Tiger is not responsible for lost or stolen property.
We ask all individuals with medical problems to inform the Golden Tiger staff of such before starting any of our programs.
Accident and Injury Policy:
All cases of accident, injury or an unusual incident should be reported to the Golden Tiger staff. Please carry your own medical insurance.
The Golden Tiger is a tobacco free facility.
Food and Drink:
Food and drink are prohibited in the dojo area.
Complete, clean, all white uniforms (gi) with no patches shall be worn to all classes.
Inclement Weather Information:
All scheduled classes and practices held at the Golden Tiger will be canceled for the entire day when the local school districts cancel classes due to inclement weather. Classes may be made up, please contact the Golden Tiger staff for make-up times.
Golden Tiger will be closed for Karate Classes on:
New Years Day
